01 — Material

All types means all types

If it has a silver emulsion on a polyester base, we want it. Jackets, envelopes and paper sleeves can stay on — we separate them here.

  • Medical x-ray

    Chest, general radiographic, fluoro, portable. Loose or still in the jacket.

  • Dental

    Bitewing, periapical, panoramic. Small film, high silver — worth more per pound than you'd guess.

  • Mammography

    Screen-film mammo, including the archives you kept past retention.

  • CT / MRI laser film

    Dry laser and wet laser sheets from imaging centers and hospital PACS conversions.

  • Industrial & NDT

    Weld radiography, pipeline inspection, aerospace. Usually the cleanest lots we see.

  • Litho & graphic arts

    Printing negatives, plates and press film from shops that went digital.

Also taking silver flake, used fixer and hydroxide sludge from processors. Ask.

02 — Process

Four steps, and you never touch a pallet

    You tell us roughly what you have

    A photo of the storage room does more than an exact count. We quote off type and weight.

  2. 2

    We ship boxes, or we bring gaylords

    Small lots get boxes and prepaid labels. Big archives get a truck, a pallet jack, and our crew doing the lifting.

  3. 3

    Weigh-in and destruction

    Film is weighed on certified scales, then shredded and sent to the refinery. Your certificate of destruction follows.

  4. 4

    You get paid

    Check or ACH against the settled weight. Payment terms and the current per-pound rate are on your quote.

03 — Chain of custody

The film has names on it. We treat it that way.

Every lot moves under a signed Business Associate Agreement. Film stays sealed from your dock to our shredder, and nothing is stored longer than it takes to process.

04 — The money

Why the film is worth anything

Radiographic emulsion is silver halide. When the film is refined, that silver comes back out — roughly one to two percent of the film's weight, depending on type and exposure. Dental and unexposed film run richest.

Your rate tracks the silver market on the day the lot settles, so we quote a range up front and confirm on the weigh ticket. No sorting fees, no fuel surcharge, no charge for the boxes.
